Drake Sets All-Time Streaming Record On Spotify With This Catchy Song — People’s Choice

While many of us may have lazied away summer, Toronto rapper Drake was busy ruling it. Drizzy has enjoyed monumental success with his fourth studio album, Views, and now, one song on the album has just set an all-time streaming record on Spotify. The music service reported yesterday (Oct. 18), that Drake’s “One Dance” is now officially the most-streamed song in their company’s history. The Caribbean-influenced single featuring Wiz Kid and Kyla has over 880 million plays across the company’s paid and unpaid subscriber players….

This isn’t the first major milestone Drake has hit with Spotify. Back in May, Spotify also reported that Drake became their most-streamed artist in history. And at the beginning of September, Spotify dubbed “One Dance” the “song of summer”  thanks to it’s record-breaking streams. Drake actually secured the No. 1 and No. 2 stops on the songs of the summer list thanks to another single off Views, “Too Good,” featuring Rihanna.

Released in April of this year under Cash Money and Republic Records, Views is officially the first album released in 2016 to go triple-platinum. As of August, the album has sold 1.4 million copies and spawned singles like “Hotline Bling,” “Controlla” and “Pop Style.” But “One Dance” has definitely proven to be the crowning jewel of the project. The song became Drake’s first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 in May.
